Engineered Structural Composites

Products

Quantum Composites develops and manufactures high strength, high temperature Engineered Structural Composites (ESC) that are used to replace metals in demanding environments. These high fiber reinforced materials can be compression molded into complex three-dimensional geometries. Advantages offered by Quantum Composites’ materials include a high strength-to-weight ratio, dimensional stability at elevated temperatures, corrosion resistance, and parts consolidation.

LYTEX®   High fiber reinforced epoxies deliver superior shear strength and  thermal stability,  and have higher flexural strength than polyesters and vinyl esters.  They also exhibit very good retention of flexural strength after cycling.  LYTEX 9063 is 63% glass reinforced epoxy.  LYTEX 4149 is carbon fiber reinforced.  LYTEX materials are specified for many military and aerospace applications.

VINYL ESTER & POLYESTER   Reinforced vinyl ester and polyester composites with unusual toughness and excellent retention of physical properties over a wide range of temperatures.

AMC®  Carbon and carbon / glass fiber-reinforced vinyl ester, and phenolic materials.  These Advanced Molding Compounds provide long-term performance in hostile, high temperature environments.

POLYIMIDE    Proprietary blends of high temperature polyimide resins reinforced with carbon fiber.  This unique combination provides outstanding mechanical strength and wear resistance up to 600° F / 315° C.  Ideal for high volume, continuous process equipment and aircraft applications.

PEMTEX®   Highly conductive compounds with excellent corrosion-resistant properties developed for use in bipolar and flow field plates for proton exchange membrane fuel cells and corrosive chemical process equipment.
