What We Do
Quantum Composites, Inc (QCI) develops and manufactures high strength, high temperature Engineered Structural Composites (ESC) that are used to replace metals and other materials in demanding applications and environments. ESC materials are in essence structural Sheet Molding Compounds (SMC) developed for compression molding into complex net shape parts. Advantages offered by QCI materials include a high strength-to-weight ratio, dimensional stability at elevated temperatures, corrosion resistance, and parts consolidation. A combination of net shape part performance and cost reduction can provide major advantages compared to other materials and processes.
Resin systems include Epoxy (Lytex®), Phenolic, Polyimide, Vinyl Ester & Polyester & Bismaleimide (BMI) combined with carbon fiber & glass fiber. QCI offer sustained value by taking the lead as an innovator in carbon fiber (AMC®) and glass fiber reinforced high performance molding compound.
QCI supports its material innovations focus through total project management support. Design engineering, FEA, applications engineer, proto type development and production process development services compliment QCI materials technology to ensure new product development success.
QCI compression molded ESC solutions are well established in Aerospace, Defense, Transportation, Automotive, Marine, Sporting Goods, Medical and Industrial markets.
QCI manufactures Engineered Structural Composites (ESC) and Advanced Molding Compounds (AMC®) in a state of the art 50,000 square foot facility in Bay City, MI. Quantum Composites, Inc (QCI) is a subsidiary of Premix, Inc. a leading supplier of thermoset molded composite solutions and materials with head office and manufacturing facilities in North Kingsville, OH USA.
